Gujarat Congress today released career guidance book, what after standard 12. The book has become very popular in the last five years. Releasing the book, Gujarat Congress President Siddharth Patel said that the book which is revised every year contains student friendly information and has many new additions this year. The book is in Gujarati and is distributed free by the party through its offices across Gujarat. The idea has been conceptualized by the student leader of the party, Manish Doshi who is an engineer by training and presently member of the Syndicate of Gujarat University. The 100 page book has information about hundreds of institutions and website. It also gives tips to students about different competitive examinations and scholarships, Doshi said. Information includes courses of Science and Commerce faculty after standard 12.
One of the main reasons for the popularity of the book is useful information. For instance, it starts with the list of the documents the students should have while filling form. Student must get his latest photographs for different forms and every document must be signed by the student and the guardian, it says.
Speaking on the occasion, PCC Chief Patel said that the education policy of Gujarat government was directionless. As a result, he said, students had to suffer. Giving an example he said that Gujarat government was going whole hog for self finance institutions which had made education very costly. On the other hand, he said, there was mechanism to check infrastructure and quality of these institutions. On the other hand grant in aid institutions were completely ignored.
